For three years, Poplar Institute for Film has evolved to meet the needs of up-and-coming marginalized filmmakers looking to develop their film idea into reality. We have worked with artists in Los Angeles, CA, Columbus, OH, and New York, New York.

We provide engaging and holistic year-round programming That provides structure, guidance, and prepares our filmmakers for success. An example of this is our Filmmaker in Residence program where we assist and mentor our filmmakers from preproduction to distribution.

Funds from this event will support our Filmmaker in Residency and Film Festival Support program. This will assist in strengthening the outcomes for our programs but enhance our filmmakers’ work and visibility in STL and beyond.
