I Have a Dream Speech: Take 2 is a update on the original speech made by Martin Luther King Jr. It goes into the struggles that we are facing today with the dream that MLK foresaw America will have someday.
In 1963 in front of the Lincoln memorial a strong African American Man by the name of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr gave his “I Have a Dream Speech” to the nation. Today that dream is still a reality. Dr. King’s Dream has come to light a little, but his dream hasn’t been made a reality yet, but now you need to hear my current dream. A dream that is of value of the great Dr. Kings “I Have a Dream Speech.” Today America is still a separated country. Modern Day Jim Crow lives in our Nations Justice System. We have not seen the mountain top that Dr. King wanted us to see in his dream. But starting today we will see the mountain top through the American Dream for black and brown people.
I have a dream that one day the police brutality that African Americans exhibit will soon be change from violence to peace, and to the man and blue doing their jobs that they will protect African Americans, Asian Americans, and every other race as if they will protect their own lives. I have a dream that one day every American will understand the song Lift Every Voice and Sing and that every American will join together, to sing that song as if it was the National Anthem. I have a dream that one day African Americans, Asian Americans, Hispanic Americans, and other nationalities in America will have the liberty and protection from the Government that was promised to them and that they will no longer be treated as a second-class citizen. I have a dream today!! I have a dream that one day me and my wife will not have to worry about our future kids being judged by their cultural background or the color of their skin but by their character and intelligence that every American should be looked upon instead of their skin color. I have a dream that one day transgenders and gay’s will not be judged because of who they love but judged by their character. I have a dream that even in the dark south states of North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Louisiana, and Arkansas will no longer exhibit prejudice behavior or racism anymore, but that every southerner will sing together in spiritual hymns. I have a dream today!!! I have a dream that the darkness of the Midwest Cities of St. Louis Missouri and Chicago will stop the black-on-black crimes on each other but will join together as brothers and sisters and take action together. I have a dream that every culture in America will march together arm by arm and sit at the table of love and peace and not evilness or hatred towards each other. O I have a dream today!! I pray that we as a black community stop downing each other and killing each other and that we unite like we did in the 50’s and 60’s and fight racism together. I pray that we will no longer be racially profiled or harassed by the police. I have a dream today!! I have a dream that the man in the White House will understand our struggles and every other Americans struggle and take action for the people instead of the special interest of corporations. I pray that he opens his ears and listens to us and sees the injustices in America’s society before trying to help another country before his own country. I pray that his supporters understand the true meaning of the BLM movement and not say that it’s a terrorist group but a movement fighting for equality for its people. I pray that they will understand that Collin Kaepernick was not kneeling to disrespect the flag or the military but kneeling because of the struggle of Black people in the unjustified murders of black man and women in America today. I pray that we all can become nonviolent again, instead of using violence to get our point across. That we will talk in peace and understand each other’s points. I pray that Malcolm X words will be understood and not be twisted to fit the phrase “violence” in America today. I pray that Medgar Evers words will be taught to every young person in the American society today. I pray that this justice system will no longer be the modern-day Jim Crow Laws or the Modern-day Slavery but will be the Justice System that treats every American the same as they should be. I have a dream that America will be the home of the brave and the Land Of the free for every American who sweat, cries and bleed blood for the American flag today. I pray that our black brothers and sisters that has not received justice yet receives justice now!! They deserve justice for being wrongfully killed by another human’s evil behavior. We must all stand together and hear our people’s cries and understand their decades of pain. We must learn their story and stop the hate towards one another. We are all God’s children, and we are all equal no matter skin color or ethnicity. I have a dream today!! I have a dream that women in America will get the same recognition as any other man in America. I have a dream that the oppressed will get the help that they need, and the government will stop turning their cheeks to veterans that fought for this country and that’s not getting the proper help they were promised. I have a dream today!!
Sam Cooke made a song called “A Change Is Gonna Come”. That Change is Now!! We need to overcome the struggle of all races in America and unite as one. Let’s put our differences aside and sing in the old Negro Spiritual. And like the great Dr.King said Free at Last, Free at Last, Thank God Almighty We Are Free at Last!!
